See The Light

Two children were hiking in the woods. As darkness fell, they became lost. They turned on their flashlights and soon began arguing about the way to proceed. Each child claimed that his flashlight was brighter, and, therefore, he should lead the way. They became confused, stressed, and tired. Eventually, they fell asleep. When they awoke in the morning, the sun was blazing forth a bright day. Both their flashlights were still turned on, but in the brilliant daylight, the relative brightness of each flashlight was insignificant. So it is with our individual lights compared to God’s light. It is futile to argue and contend about whose light is brighter and illuminates a better path through the darkness. It is God’s light that surpasses and shows the true way. It is by God’s light that we are found.
